You will find several variants of this image on my site. While fishing the middle fork of the Flathead River this scene unfolded before me. Overall, this scene only lasted a few minutes. The light effect behind these pine trees is actually dust rising up from a gravel road. Moments prior, a vehicle had passed over the road kicking up the dust in it’s path and rising into the last rays of light. I was grateful the fishing was slow that day so I didn’t miss this moment!
